in the kitchen

a spider has made her home in our kitchen window, we saw fit to call her Charlotte. we've watched her spin her web, and snack on various insects. her abdomen has grown enormus. today, we watched her lay her egg sack. it sounds really intrusive, but it was really cool. i had to catch a few photos...! her belly contracted, it took her about 15 minutes, then she spun it up so tight it is almost unrecognizable. the kids watched in amazement. we will track the progress for sure.

then it was off to the floor races with these two. Theo officially put his knees to the metal on the night of April 22nd...
and is only getting more speedy.

Zoo Trip

Cannon had his final pre-school field trip today, to the zoo. The weather was perfect, and the kids and animals were frisky.
Theo was just happy to be outside.

The crew and their sweet teachers

After the animal perusing, we lunched and played at Baker Park. We are really going to miss our Noah's Kids friends!

A Hover Craft, it's cutting edge

Ty was asked to participate in this years Invention Convention. His unique idea was a window washing cart that was suspended by hover as opposed to cables. A funny idea, but clever none the less.
Here is the model, he painted it himself...

Here he is waiting to answer the inquiries about his cutting edge design.
Our first science fair, I'm a proud mama.

Easter Festivities: Easter Sunday

The kids rose early, I had been up late...configuring.
Their baskets were filled with Lindt chocolates, Playmobil for the girl and Legos and DS games for the boys.
They also got a little "Potter" love, too
These two caught a little nap before church. While they rested,
 I played with this.
How delightful is this little woodland?

After church, the children humored with a few photos.
just a few of my faves...

then it was off to Sue-wee's for yet another egg hunt, and dinner

Ty found 2 of 3 money eggs, then Ry found the 3rd. We ate delicious food, indulged in delicious dessert, and came home with loads of treats.

And now we can rest.
Happy Easter!

Easter Festivities: the Saturday brunch

Saturday morning we headed over to the Ye Old Toblers for a brunch and egg hunt...
I prepared a Strawberry Pistachio Tart.
This little mama is counting down days...T-minus 5 days
the kiddos waited anxiously on the stairs, some more patiently than others
then they were off...

Easter Festivities: Dyeing Eggs

The Toblers wanted in on the action, so we decided to make a night of it. We grilled some hot dogs for the little ones and kabobs for the big ones. Dinner was delish, and I think the kids had fun. Ty left our party a little early to attend his friends birthday party. I'm constantly reminded of his age and threatening independence.
