Goodbye Scrummage

Tonight was the last night for Cannon's soccer practice/scrummages (as he refers to them).
He ran his little heart out, and scored a couple of goals.
Then he was rewarded with a champion medal, certificate, and water bottle.
He was glowing.
A champion medal...just for him.

Finally 7

Ryli is officially
7!
We had Olive Garden for dinner last night. Then we discovered that Ryli had pink eye. Not a gift she asked for.
Her pink eye kept us indoors and away from the general public, but her spirits were up. We spent a lot of time relaxing and opened presents. We spent a little time this evening discussing her entrance into this world. She loves that story. We looked through her baby pictures, another of her favorite things. What a lovely event to celebrate, the birth of my one and only. Happy Birthday my little Batnick.

Firefly: The Party

We painted pottery this year. It was a great experience, I highly recommend it. We only had one casualty, I believe it was a soccer ball. Again, I attempted cupcakes. Mini this time, with bold frosting. Still need the practice, but Bubba is always reminding me that practice makes perfect.
I like to call this the present frenzy

Ryli's Birthday Friday

Her birthday isn't until Sunday, but they always start early and end late. I feel it my motherly duty to make a birthday nice and long, for all of my little chicks.
It started it out with cupcakes delivered to school on Friday. I have a lot to learn about decorating a cupcake. But alas...they are homemade, and homemade always TASTE so much better. Plus, I had these adorable boxes to use.
My girl is always willing to bask in the spotlight. So when she got to sit at a special table, be serenaded by her peers, then choose her most special friends to pass out cupcakes with her, well, it was so Ryli. I almost always absolutely adore her.

The times when I don't, it's because she's acting jsut like her mommy. Bring on the Birthday weekend!

A Friendly Easter Dinner

We came home from lunch only to start the makings of a blueberry cake with mascarpone frosting. My hope were high, as my best helper assisted.

The masterpiece turned out...a bit melted. Baking is not my thing. At all.

Fortunatley, I have a husband with a few more skills than myself. Including patients.

Shane's handywork

Dinner was delightful, with a delightful group.
Here is us, me and the boy.
6 months...

And that concludes the Easter festivities of 2010.

Family Lunch: Easter con't

We got together for our monthly family meal. We usually plan on just celebrating the birthday's...today we got to include Easter. And, of course, we celebrated a certain 7 year old. Gus, Landry and Spencer added another year as well.
Sue-wee out did herself with 3 mini cakes, and a mandarin pie.
Presents were opened, baskets were opened...then, the hunt was on!
