Black Friday and the Day before

I've been up since 3:45am in preparation for the shopping festivities. I love Black Friday, I love bargains and the competition to get the best deal. I only almost got in one fight and it was over sheet sets...silly huh?

Suffice it to say I got more than I planned, wrapped up Cannon's Birthday shopping and most of Christmas for the kids. Now is decision time...what to keep, what not to keep. That is my Black Friday BIG question.
Thanksgiving was spent deliciously in the countryside of central Arkansas. We drove out to my aunt and uncles where we were joined by extended friends and family...a quaint group of about 25. The food was the tastiest I've experienced in all of my Thanksgiving past and the conversation...entertaining.

After the family affair we hung out with our "other" extended family, the Griffin's and Hartzell's. We enjoyed desserts and games, and the inevitable kids loving...and fighting. They really are the best of friends, we know it:)
We capped off the night at our house watching Cloverfield and yet more food consumption surrounded by more friends.
Indeed our Thanksgiving was spent with people that we love and constant reminders of ALL that we have to be thankful for...
Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

I've only been anticipating this event for 8 months, I was pretty excited. I met Becca at the theater at 7pm to pick up my ticket and then was told we couldn't start waiting for the movie until 10pm. My bubble was somewhat burst but I killed the time and we came back at 9:15 and spent about 45 min waiting outside in the frosty winds. We finally got inside and raced (yes, ran fast) to our designated theater and we made it first! Once we were released into the actual theater we raced again to the upper middle seats and had almost the whole row reserved for our group. It was a lot fun. I even answered two trivia questions and got a movie poster and a hat. (don't know what I'm going to do with those now) I think the teenagers were a little embarrassed to be shown up by the crazy mom of 3.
I'm still stewing over the movie...not quite sure of my opinion at this point. I need to get together with the girls to talk some things out. Would I do it again....absolutely. I love indulging my inner child and hanging out with my friends. Count me in for New Moon.

a calendar-ific nite...

So me and the girls got together on Tuesday night for craft night. Teriney found this adorable DIY Advent Calender. I had such a good time making this and I love my finished product. I also had a great time chillin with my finished product I think Joe's advent calendar wore him out, or maybe it was Ruby:)-on a side note, I filled up my little rollerskate of a car for $24 today...crazy, I know-

oh whata night...

I can't believe how proud I am of our country tonight.
I've served in the Air force, supported my husband through a deployment to the middle east and observed a war unfold up close.
I have spent a lot of time educating myself on the candidates and issues for the first time.
I chose a candidate and watched him ultimately win the contest, the top prize, the title of President of the United States.
It's exhilarating, refreshing and exciting.
I can't wait to watch this man go to work and blow the naysayers out of the water.
I have faith in this man.
This is democracy. This is choice. I love our country.
